A group of three members led by Sun Yeung Yeung, the general manager of YBN, came to Jilin for an on spot investigation of the Jilin (China - Singapore) food area project in Sept. 15, 2011. According to the introduction of project leader, Jilin (China - Singapore) Food Area is located in Yongji County, Jilin City, Jilin Province, and between Changchun City and Jilin City which are two major cities in Jilin Province, 50 km away from the two cities respectively. China – Singapore Food Area consists of the core area, the control area and the radiation area. 

The overall strategic positioning is to take the advantage of policy in Changchun – Jilin – Tumen as the pilot area for opening up; and the support of technical standard, science research results and market in field of food from China and Singapore.  With the building concept of "government leading, corporate participation, industry support, brand building, international standards, health and safety", it will be built into "an international demonstration area of safe and healthy food production and an international demonstration area of modern agricultural collaboration".

That night, Zhao Jingbo, the acting mayor if Jilin, met with inspects personnel of YBN at Century Hotel. The Member of the Standing Committee of Jilin and first deputy mayor Li Xiangdong, and deputy mayor Wang Zhihou is presented at the meeting.

Mayor Zhao first introduced basic situations of Jilin to all participants. According to his speech, Jilin promoted its development relying on the advantage of resource and policy of industry base city and Changchun – Jilin – Tumen pilot area in these years.

The investigation is mainly aimed at look into the project and formulates long, medium and short cooperation methods, according to Mr. Sun. CITIC will cooperate with Jilin base on this starting point.
